PHD PROGRAMS

The Yerevan State Theatre and Film Institute announces admissions for the 2024-2025 academic year to the part-time PhD program in the specialty of "Theatre Art, Film Arts, Television" (code ZhE/107.00.01) (One tuition-free spot available, without the right to deferment from mandatory military service).

Applications are accepted from August 26 to September 13, inclusive.

An application addressed to the Rector, accompanied by the following documents, is required for admission to the PhD program:

  • copies of the bachelor's and master's degrees diplomas or the diploma of a certified specialist and the attachments (a document certifying the equivalence of their education is required for individuals who obtained their higher education abroad);

  • a certificate of foreign language proficiency or an equivalent reference (with a score-based assessment in accordance with the established internal threshold);

  • a copy of at least one published scientific work in the chosen specialty or a scientific essay of at least 20 printed pages;

  • a CV and three photographs (size 3×4 cm);

  • an excerpt from the employment record book (if available).

The passport and originals of diplomas must be submitted in person.

The admission committee grants permission to participate in the professional exam if the applicant presents a certificate confirming the required score in the foreign language exam, along with a positive written review of the scientific essay from the relevant department, or an approved list of published academic works in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

The minimum required foreign language scores are as follows:

  • English: TOEFL (iBT) 46 and IELTS 5.5 points;

  • French: TCF 200 points;

  • German: on DAF 60 points.
