FURTHER AND SUPPLEMENTARY EDUCATION CENTRE

The Further and Supplementary Education Centre forms an integral part of professional education in a rapidly evolving world of knowledge addressing educational needs driven by the necessity tօ develop additional competencies that contribute to the demonstration and advancement of core professional competencies.

The supplementary education system assumes another important function: it not only offers additional courses complementing the main educational program, but also serves as an independent educational dimension, purposefully addressing the educational needs of the segment of society not covered by the formal education system. Therefore, it constitutes one of the key components of further or lifelong learning.

The centre ensures:

• organization of short-term and diverse courses outside the scope of the main educational programs;

• organization of professional training courses for the qualification enhancement of academic staff at YSTFI and other universities;

• coordination of training courses;

• formulation of further and supplementary education curricula and coordination of the development of subject programs;

• providing a wide range of services in the educational sphere;

• organization and oversight of the educational process, coordination of the management of further and supplementary education, as well as tuition-fee based education services;

• establishing academic and scientific connections with organizations and relevant departments of educational institutions in Armenia and abroad that offer further and supplementary education;

• participation in national and international discussions and scientific conferences on further and supplementary education.
