GOVERNANCE COUNCIL

The Governing Council of a state higher educational institution is the collegial management body of the institution, established for a five-year term in line with the institution's statute. The powers of the council's president and members are defined by the statute.

The council is formed by the academic staff of the higher educational institution, representatives of the student body, as well as representatives of the founder and the authorised body.

The activities of the council include the approval of the institution's budget and strategic plans, the hearing and evaluation of the annual report on the higher educational institution's activities (submitted by the rector), the election of the rector, as well as the submission of the institution's statute along with proposals for its amendments and additions to the founder.
